To bring a healthful salad or bowl meal to life, the sauce is key. Store bought dressings and sauces tend to be packed with sugar and other unknown ingredients designed to keep the product shelf-stable. Making dressing at home might seem fussy and fancy, but it really is not.

Refrigeration Rule of Thumb: If the ingredients used to make the dressings need to be refrigerated, the mixed dressing needs to be refrigerated. If all ingredients are not stored in the fridge, the mixed dressing can be stored on the counter. If dressings stored in the fridge become solid, microwave them for 10 seconds at a time and shake to return the oils to liquid.
